Ontario Climate Change Discussion Paper 2015

The provincial government in Ontario (Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change) released its Climate Change Discussion Paper on February 12, 2015. The Ministry’s plan is to move fairly swiftly through a series of consultations on the plan (February 24 to March 19, 2015) and then bring in a finalized plan presumably before Ontario hosts the Climate Summit of the Americas (July 2015).
The Province’s overarching vision is based on:
• Establishing Ontario as a leader in climate change mitigation and science
• Redesigning and building a strong carbon-neutral economy, communities, infrastructure and energy
• Protecting ecosystems, including air, land and water
• Leaving a legacy of a healthy world for our children and future generations.
